HOUSTON, TEXAS - MARCH 28, 2025- Eight fillies and mares are set to go post ward for the 2025 renewal of the $60,000 Texas Yellow Rose Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park to close out the 2025 TB Meet.
2025 marks the second year that the Yellow Rose(Arabian) is contested on the turf, and promises a new winner for this edition, as last years winner RB Mary Lylah continues her career of running in the middle east. Jerenesto Torrez trained RB Dance Party has been installed as the 8/5 morning-line favorite for the one-mile turf event.
The four year old daughter of RB Nash will be making her 4th career start in the Yellow Rose after finishing 2nd to Thunder Johnson-trained Masqueradesobia in an allowance event on March 14th at Sam Houston Race Park. RB Dance Party broke her maiden last August at Retama Park in her second-career start, and the Rosebrook Farm LLC. runner draws the 2-hole with Anardis Rodriguez aboard.
Coming alive in her most previous start in a gutsy-performance is the 5/2 second choice on the morning-line, Masqueradesobia. The seven year-old mare, who is only making her 7th career start, captured victory in the March 14th six-furlong allowance at Sam Houston Race Park over several rivals who are making their next start against her in the Saturday's Texas Yellow Rose Stakes. Jockey Mario Fuentes will start from the 5-hole aboard Masqueradesobia.
